COVID-19 UPDATE: ROSSMOOR COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT WILL SHUT DOWN PARKS FOR EASTER DUE TO CONCERN FOR PUBLIC SAFETY
With the health and safety of the Rossmoor community being a top priority of the Rossmoor Community Service District (RCSD), the difficult decision was made to close Rossmoor Park and Rush Park this Easter, Sunday, April 12, 2020. The parks, parking lots, and restrooms will be closed. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution and follows the concerns from Orange County and other local cities that Easter Sunday might experience unsafe gatherings.
The District is encouraging families to stay home and continue to practice safe social distancing. Our parks and open space will reopen to the public on Monday, April 13, 2020 and restrooms will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents are encouraged to practice social distancing at all times, including wearing protective facial masks and gloves.
We know that Easter is a special day for families and friends to gather together, but safety and common sense need to prevail. The district appreciates both the community’s understanding and compliance.
We hope that this extraordinary effort will help stop the spread of COVID-19 and continues to flatten the curve of infection. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the RCSD Office at (562) 430-3707, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ###
